The Micro- 3D printer wars are heating up

The Mini 3D Printer

The Mini 3D PrinterThe Micro, touted as the first truly consumer 3D printer has been a huge hit on Kickstarter. Fully funded in the first 11 minutes is was online. It is more affordable than the Makerbot Mini (which I reviewed here) and is completely ready to go right out of the box, considering that the MakerBot has to be built to work. The Micro touts easy to use software, and the ability to just download some pre-created designs and print them makes this 3D printer one heck of a device from the box. Although the initial backer offer of $199 is long gone, you can still snag one of these hot devices for $299 from their Kickstarter page right here, which is still far below the $1300 price tag for the MakerBot Mini.
